Can kids participate?

YES!  This is a family friend activity and great for all ages.  Kids help decorate and pack the baskets, we have fun activities and stations for them, and coloring stations for Thanksgiving pictures to go in each basket.

What happens the day of Brigade?

Everyone arrives with their food at 10 AM.  It is a fun, party like atmosphere.

Once everyone has arrived we are able to package the baskets together.  Everyone has the opportunity to pack a basket.  Some will decorate, some will sort food, some will help with driver registration, etc.

Kids will color pictures to go into the baskets.

After everything drivers are called up by Driver Number (assigned in order of Pre-Registration) and will choose their preferred location to deliver too and receive their envelope with family addresses.

Then YOU enjoy delivering the Thanksgiving meals to the families in need.

Who receives a basket?

Families who are experiencing challenges due to loss of a parent, low income, illness or death in the family.  Women and children who are starting over after leaving abusive relationships, elderly citizens in need of support, and the disabled.  Children’s shelters, orphanages, and in transition housing for homeless teens as well.

Active Military, Veterans, and Wounded Warriors are also supported.

Do you help homeless or In Transition families?

Yes.  Over 180 In Transition Baskets are delivered to those living in shelters, tents, hotels, or outside.  These may include single teenaagers, or families.  These baskets are customized to meet their needs.

How are the families chosen?

We work with local organizations, shelters, schools, and churches to find the families in need.   We also work with the local parks and hotels to find families who may be living there in tents, and/or In Transition.

Personal nominations are also accepted.

Can In Nominate a Family?

Yes.  You can CLICK HERE to Nominate a Family.  Please note that we provide the baskets to all of our approved organizations first, and then if any are extras we go to our personal nomination list.

You MUST confirm with the family that they will be home to receive the basket the day of the Brigade, since the turkeys are frozen we cannot store them, and if someone is not home we must pay it forward.

Please do not guarantee a basket until you have received a confirmation email from us that we have a basket for your family.

How many baskets do you deliver?

We began in 2009 with 4 baskets, and our 2017 goal is 2000!
